The descriptions of the 38 Bach Flower Remedies that follow include material from a variety of sources that are currently accessible, but the details given are far from the last word. There is much more to be revealed of the subtleties of the Remedies and their divine healing powers. In fact this marvelous system is only just beginning to show its true potential.

The information on each Flower is presented as follows:

The botanical details have been taken in abridged form from the book “The Bach Flower Remedies by Nora Weeks and Victor Bullen, who both worked with Edward Bach.

Under the heading ‘Principle’, an attempt is first made to show the fundamental spiritual quality of the Flower, with special reference to ‘misunderstandings’ in the development of a person’s soul and spirit. This is followed by practical details supplied by practitioners.

The ‘Key Symptoms’ are the most characteristic symptoms when energy is blocked and the energy of the Flower is needed. They are intended to facilitate a first diagnosis.

The list of ‘Symptoms due to Energy Block’ should help to confirm the diagnosis. It is based on material from practice records of a number of a number of Bach practitioners and on the existing Bach literature. The intention has been deliberately to list many symptoms, sometimes overlapping, to present a wide spectrum for starting points to be found on an individual basis.

Some may feel that there are negative overtones to the symptoms. Experience has shown that this is how one tends to meet them in practice in subjects who are functioning at a relatively unconscious level. The greater a person’s awareness is coming to terms with his own development process, the more subtle will be the levels at which the conditions described occur, and the less will they be immediately apparent to an outsider. It is therefore important not just to take the listed symptoms literally, but to consider them as a trend. The primary concern is to sense and recognize the underling principle.

For the sake of completeness, it should be noted that a person does not of course have to present all the symptoms listed to indicate a need for a particular Bach Flower Remedy, which will be different for every person and every combination of Flower Remedies. If the principle has been correctly diagnosed, one, two or perhaps three symptoms will be all that is required to confirm the diagnosis.

‘Potential Following Transformation’ is the most important part of the Flower description. It defines the soul quality, energy potential or virtue a person has and which it is intended to bring to realization. Work with the Bach Flower Remedies can release the negative energy blockage and change it to a state of positive, harmonious flow, achieving transformation and realization.

The ‘Supportive Measures’ and ‘Positive Statements for Practice’ at the end of each section have proved their value in practice for a number of Bach therapists, but are given as suggestions only to round the picture.
