HEALTHY INSIDE, HAPPY OUTSIDE.

The impact of modern lifestyle on our health is enormous. Erratic working hours, unhealthy eating habits, and zero physical activities have increased the risk of lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart ailments in young adults today. However, unlike genetic or hereditary conditions, which are beyond our control, these disease can be prevented by changing our our lifestyle.

According to health experts, integrating fitness, nutrition, and personal hygiene into daily routines is essential for maintaining good health. “Eating the right food is essential for survival. It provides the energy needed for basic bodily functions like circulation, movement, and cognition. Additionally, dietary choices can greatly impact one’s overall health and longevity. Consuming a balanced diet also reduces the risk of stroke, osteoporosis, digestive issues, cataracts, and cognitive decline.”

WHOLESOME EATING IS ESSENTIAL:

Following a healthy diet doesn’t mean one has to survive on salads. The secret is to eat more nutritious meals and less processed or packaged food. From all kinds of vegetables, sprouts, fruits, and meat to milk and nuts, one should include a variety of foods that provides vital vitamins and minerals like vitamin D, vitamin B12, calcium, potassium, and magnesium.

“Wholesome food is essential for maintaining good health. It provides the body with the nutrients it needs to function optimally. A balanced diet diet helps boost energy levels, supports a strong immune system, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Furthermore, it plays a role in mental well-being.”

Although changing old eating habits overnight is tough, one should gradually try to make some dietary changes overtime.

FIGHTING FIT:

Along with the intake of nutritious food, physical activity is necessary for maintaining good health. Though different in their functions, diet, and exercise work synergistically to improve quality of life.

“Extensive research highlights the benefits of regular exercise in preventing heart disease, aiding recovery from illnesses, and enhancing mental and emotional well-being. It strengthens the immune system, improves oxygen utilization, regulates metabolism, and reduces harmful cholesterol levels, ultimately optimizing bodily functions. Moreover, it has a profound psychological impact, promoting relaxation and emotional stability.”

MAINTAIN HYGIENE:

Living in an unhygienic environment not only affects one’s health but also leads to the spread of illnesses.. Hence, public sanitation and personal hygiene are key factors in protecting oneself from diseases. Personal hygiene includes various aspects of self-care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, and hair and nail grooming, among others, all of which enhance personal well-being and contribute to public health by reducing the spread of infections.

“If every individual adopts good hygiene practices and maintains cleanliness in the surroundings, many diseases can be avoided. Acts such as improper disposal of garbage, spitting in public, open defecation, and neglecting basic practices like washing hands contribute to the spread of infections. Even a simple habit like washing hands before eating can go a long way in preventing illnesses.”

Nutrition, physical activity, and hygiene are interconnected pillars of health. “While a balanced diet fuels the body, exercise strengthens it, and hygiene safeguards it from disease. Together, these practices lay the foundation for a healthier, longer, and more fulfilling life.”
