Dehydration can cause fatigue, headaches, dizziness, and even heat stroke. The good news? Staying hydrated doesn’t have to be boring or hard.

Here are some refreshing ways to keep your body fueled with fluids all season long/

‘INFUSED WATER TASTES GREAT’:

“One should at least have two to three liters of water every day in summer especially because one tends to get dehydrated. It also affects your skin. Plain water isn’t always exciting, so to make it fun, you can add fresh slices of lemon, cucumber, strawberries or mint. Infused water not only tastes great, but also encourages you to drink more.”

“Many fruits and veggies are packed with fluids and offer a tasty way to stay hydrated. Watermelons, cucumbers, oranges, strawberries and celery are a great to add to your water intake. Coconut water also keeps you hydrated.”

MAKE IT INTERESTING:

  • Buttermilk: Mix yogurt, water, rock/sea salt, roasted cumin seed powder, fresh coriander and fresh mint.
  • Mint coriander juice: Mix fresh coriander, mint, lemon juice, rock salt and ginger water.
  • Infused water: Cucumber, lemon, saunf, orange, mint — add individually or in your chosen combination of water and leave to infuse.

SET HYDRATION REMINDERS:

Use phone reminders or hydration-tracking apps to give yourself a nudge every hour or two. Some smart water bottles even glow when it’s time to take a sip. “You shouldn’t wait till you get thirsty as that is a sign that your body is feeling dehydrated. Keep sipping on water at regular intervals.”

People who work out often lose water while they sweat, so adding electrolytes in water is important. “Once can even make natural electrolyte by adding rock salt or juice of a fresh lemon in water.”

  • Instead of fruit juice, which tends to lose its fiber, opt for fresh fruit.
