SO MANY REASONS FOR STROKE.

Stroke is a brain disease that occurs when there is either a sudden decrease in the quantity of blood reaching a particular area of the brain due to obstruction of a blood vessel (structures that transport blood to the brain and within the brain) or when a blood vessel sudden ruptures or bursts leading to bleeding within the brain. When this occurs, the brain cells in that area die leading to signs and symptoms such as paralysis, difficulties speaking or seeing, numbness on one side of the body, etc.

Stroke is the leading cause of acquired disability in adults worldwide.

 

The two main strokes are:-

1. Ischemic stroke:-
A stroke is caused by blood clots or excess fat deposits on the walls of blood vessels obstructing blood flow to the brain.

2. Hemorrhagic stroke:-
A blood vessel ruptures and prevents blood flow to the brain.

 

Symptoms:-
If you or someone you’re with may be having a stroke, pay particular attention to the time the symptoms began. Some treatment options are most effective when given soon after a stroke begins.

 

Signs and symptoms of stroke include:-

* Trouble speaking and understanding what others are saying. You may experience confusion, slur words or have difficulty understanding speech.
* Paralysis or numbness of the face, arm or leg. You may develop sudden numbness, weakness or paralysis in the face, arm, or leg. This often affects just one side of the body.
* Problems seeing in one or both eyes. You may suddenly have blurred or blackened vision in one or both eyes, your may see double.
* Headache – a sudden severe headache, which may be accompanied by vomiting, dizziness, or loss of consciousness, may indicate that you’re having a stroke.
* Trouble walking – You may stumble or lose your balance. You may also have sudden dizziness or a loss of combination.
